When you're listening music in your computer, which do you like best: listening music using earphones or headset? or you like better using the computer speaker? why? Well, for me, I prefer speaker, because my ear really hurts after a long time using earphones. Even though, the volume was not that high. That's why I am not too fond using it that is, unless if I know people will be disturb on my music like when my family has a visitors. Otherwise, I'll like to used speaker rather than earphones. Perhaps the earphones that you are using are a bit big for your ears. Maybe you can avail new ones that really fit conveniently in your ears when you listen to music. If not, headsets are also convenient since they really don't have to be plugged into your ears. As for the topic, I really like listening using speakers. Just loud enough to listen to the music and to have the feel for it but, not too loud that it might disturb others around me or, have others find a difficulty when they want to get my attention in case I'm being called for. I now earphones are for privacy and so others dont' have to listen to it and all that, but those of us with common sense already knew this, but now it is proven that earplugs can damage hearing. Word out there is that those in this decade or so, have been so addicted to earplugs that they will most likely have hearing problems in their older years. I just use the speakers. I seldom play music with my computer, rather i will play it form my phone if i'm outside.. Same here, i will rather use speaker than ear piece as my ears will hurt after some time.. haha.. BUt however, i dun play songs from my phone that often too as there will be ple around and it's often noisy.. I prefer speakers because sound quality in speakers far surpasses earphones in every single way. I have a 5.1 surround speaker in my computer so If I crank it up the whole house can hear my music. lolz But I use earphones though at night and at work because I might disturb a lot of people if I use my speaker. :) From my experience Kylie, the reason why your ear hurts with your earphones even though the volume is not high is that maybe your earphones are too big for your ears. Try using smaller earphones or even earbuds and see if your ear still hurts after a while. I wouldn't recommend the use of earphones though it'll make you deaf in the years to come. :( [DuDaDs]

I don't use either. My computer is all hooked up through surround sound. Technically speaking yes they are speakers but so much more advanced than the crappy Computer Speakers that come along with it. We also have sub woofer on it as well. I would never go back to normal computer speakers let alone earphones on this one. [nicholejade]

When ever i am at the computer, i use my Dolby 5.1 speaker systems with double woofers. It brings the house down and i have set the speakers as it should. So that when i sit in the middle of all the speakers in front of the monitor, music comes alive :|. The first day i sat after i arranged the speakers, i knew what a beautiful thing music is. We never get the full sound with just any speaker or head phone. And if i am playing a game, its like i am living within that game. Sound is so perfect. I wear headphones only when i am out doors, or far from PC. [naaadh]

I would love to use the speaker, but I have to use the earphones because my husband does not like classical or opera. However when I am practicing my singing, I use the speaker because I have this cheap Compac Presario and the mixer does not work as well. It will not record while I am using a head set. My head set is also broken and I have to press the microphone attachment on. Yet my husband uses the speaker when he listens to his radio plays and they are often louder than me with the headset and it bothers me. [suspenseful]

Headphones especially in a public or crowded situation as I do not wish to disturb others. Speakers are fine alone or when others in the room are alright with it.
