How Many Of Listen To Music On Internet

Today the word digital has occupied most part of the world and so is the world of music. How many of still listen to tapes and cds? HOw many of switched to digital music? How many of now listen to internet music? How mnay actually buy the music?? Well for me it is almost free because i dont buy the music at all but still enjoy the latest music legally. Yes thanks to internet that i am able to listen to latest in music at just one click and need not pay at all. And how is it all legal? They generate revenue through online music by audio advertising and this allows them to buy rights and stream the songs online. Now what do you have to say about your preferences?

I do i go on sites like radio blog and stuff or download them. [rudeboiii]
i also frequent radioblog and yahoo!launch :D my favorite stations includes film scores, and eva cassidy fan radio station :) however when our connection is way too slow, i just listen to my mp3 files :) [kitakitts]

I still listen to CDs and vinyl, but I also listen to online radios. I've been spending most of my time on Last.fm recently. [DeadBoyRunningScared]

I haven't bought a cassette in years. It's all CDs and digital music for me. I think digital music is great. Though, I don't believe that people should download entire albums without paying for it it. It's important to support the artists you're listening to. So, use iTunes, people! [hitzphillygirl]
Cassettes are old school I still have some but rarely listen to them becuase it's easier just to listen to CDs for onethink, cassettes are bad becuase to get to 1 song you have to go through all those other songs on that side. With CDs you just slide right by all those songs you don't want or don't like. I also agree with hitzphillygirl you should use iTunes for the artists, I believe artists these days are getting ripped off by these online radio's and downloads. [silver1beans]

i do listen to a lot of cds, but when i am on the internet (which is quite a lot of the time) i always listen to the online radios. I like to listen to aolradio. They say the best things in life are free, so why not listen to the latest and greatest music for nothing! You do get a better choice and variety, and can switch the style of music with just a click of a button. Digital music is definatley something i use a lot, and think a lot of people will start using more in the future. [jeggie]
yes it could also be becuase of the revenues circulating around bypassing the customer though we indirectly pay for the music by visiting and listening to the advertisements. [ygkchaitu]

i do listen to my cds a lot, but when i am online (which is most of the time) i do tend to listen to online radio a lot of the time. Online radio is free, so why not listen to it? They say the best things in life are free, and so why not take advantage of that fact. There is so much more choice on the online radio (granted you can't choose the tracks) but you can choose the genre of the music you want to listen to. There is more variety than my cd collection has to offer. So rather than buy, i choose digital music.I only really buy the music of the Artists A REALLY like, as i do like to support them, and own the cds. Other than that i just listen to the music digitally. [jeggie]
no problem things of this sort do happen and good to see a follow up comment [ygkchaitu]

Since I'm still in Arizona, I'm listening to the radio on line. There is a station that I like in Toronto that I can't get down here on the radio, and a program I never miss. In order to hear it, I am listening to the radio on line, here in AZ. As for downloading, I tend to download music that is not readily available to me in North America. I download a lot of Russian and Ukrainian music on line. [danishcanadian]

I appreciate musicians and respect their creative talents that only help people soothe their minds when they are down, add more fun when they are happy.Being wanting to be loyal to them makes me feel guilty to get their records for free. And anyway the CD racks full of vintage records adds grandness to your collections that's being displayed flambouyantly in your room. I do listen to the internet radio at times just for the heck of getting myself updated and informed about the new bands. Lastly but not least, its our human nature that if we have something for free we hardly care for that thing which only depreciates the value of that special thing. [rekhum]

I use online media, mainly iTunes. Why? 1. You can listen to online streams from anywhere in the world. 2. You can adjust properties of media files. 3. You can buy songs through the iTunes store 4. They have the iPod. Apple wins. [VanJensen]

I still use CD's occasionally, but when I'm online I use iTunes every time. I find it relaxing to be able to sit here, listen to music and not have to get up to change the CD or turn the tape over or anything, and I can listen to what I want with just a click of the Mouse button. Music and technology have come such a long way. When I was a child, tapes were all the rage and I had hundreds of them. Now I have none. I'm not even sure where they went to. I think my mom may have thrown them out when I said I didn't need them anymore lol. [retardedrugrat]
hi me too listen my cd's lot bt when i am on internet i always remember to use the online radio or i tunes it is a relaxe to me [pritamdas]

i listen music in internet, yes ,there are thousands of latest music . i'm every enjoying it!i have hunders of music type, but now i never use them.sometimes,i feel a song that very attrict me,or the music star i support,i'll buy the CD as the way to support. [newtopwin]

=) i buy cd's i collect them <3 i love music i listen tot them on my itunes [jayz585]

I actually use BearShare to listen to music on the internet. But sometimes I do buy the album or CD if I really like song or the artist. Otherwise I just download it on the internet and presto I have a copy. [carol79]

I often comment with my friends that absolutely nobody buys the real albums and singles anymore, but that's just not true. Sure we'd like to think that with the digital era, people all over the shop are downloading their songs using Peer to Peer applications, but the truth of the matter is, that there is still a minute group of people who are more willing to go out and buy a brand new album, rather than searching for the illegal counterpart online. There is a sense of 'collectability' when I buy music albums. I prefer being able to hold a product which a band has spent months and months and a lot of money to create. I like to read the little pamphlets that come with the albums. They often explain a little about the process of creating the album and etc. Long are the days when people used to hear one good song from a band on the radio and then go out and buy their whole album. It's true that perhaps the quality isn't always present throughout a band's whole album, but sitting down and appreciating the musical creation is an experience I prefer to cherish, rather than illegally download. That is to say of course, that not all downloading of music online is illegal. There are radio channels online that I often listen to, but I am in no way storing them onto my computer - merely streaming them. [frankeyc]

yeh nowadays people are very busy that they dont have time to go to shops and buy cd's and tapes. And as the technology advanced most of the people are having Laptops and system at home with net . so why to waste time and money when we get the latest hit songs online . [kpbhuvana]

i sometimes do. if it is a new song or a song that was out a long time ago but never heard, and its also those types of music i like, than i sometimes go try and search for them. [00fear]

I listen to the music onthe Internet, using the Music Plug ins from Yahoo Messenger. It's easy because I only have to log in to Yahoo and I can select any genre or theme that I want to listen to. And it's free so i don't have to buy the expensive Cds jus so I can listen to the latest in the music industry. [clod0327]

I do not listen to music on the internet but I do download many songs each day and then listen to them on my computer.I think it is a bit difficult to stream and then listen to the songs. [ankitsingh225]

I don't i think its a waste of time. [shundiggs]

Not on the net but firstly I download it from the net and then I listen to them. Its true that who's gonna wait for the stream time. Just download with a download manager and enjoy the song. This way I use the internet also and enjoy some great songs also. But sometimes I listen to the radio from net. Then its ok for me. Its illegal or legal to download the songs for free?? I don't know but one thing is for sure that nothing on the net is hidden from the officials. So they must be knowing about the free distribution of the songs. And if they don't mind then why do we. [unishwetabh]

i enjoy listening to streaming audio sometimes. but more often than not, i would listen to CD's or mp3's on my iPod, because good quality streaming audio is hard to find. also, here in india there are strict limitations on internet. [sayanakaharry]

I listen to music daily. I do it by using my home theatre. I enjoy using it a lot. While i work with my P.C i do it through the internet access. [balakishore]

[ganesh1984k]

I almost don't download any music from the internet. I don't think it's right to download something that you need to buy. from time to time I buy some CDs of singers that I like, but most of the time I'm just listening to the radio. There are some legall radio sites- there you can listen to very good music! [shay3434]

I don't listen on internet becouse i listen jazz and jazz isn't on internet, isn't commercial. We have to think that if we don't buy cd's they never will cost less than today. There are so many good musician who sell their albums at a cheap cost. We have to buy those artist and not the commercial one [hinocki]

i listen to digital music as well but not most of time coz im using a dial up so its hard to download songs. its takes time. i sometimes download music at Imesh im into listening to local fm radio mostly. and when i like the artist i buy the album if i have extra money [frenchfriesNketchup]

I can't remember the last time I listened to a tape or a cd. All my music is stored on the computer and when I want to listen I just turn it on, lol. I do have a radio in my kitchen which I normally listen to in the mornings while getting the children ready for school. As for listening to music on the internet itself, that's not something I do very often. [XxAngelxX]

i love this but if im doing the same everytime,my datatransfer limit cannot meet this [alexcec]

I have about 6000 MP3s on my computer that I listen to daily, but I would never give up on CDs because of this digital wave. I still buy CDs and prefer listening to them above everything else. [jokerinthepack]

Well I listen to tapes and cd's. I listen to digital music too. [kheeko123]

hi now everyone is going to conected with internet bt not everyone is connecting to digital music.. if u are asking abt digital music then it is a sure thing i can say that only 25% people who are connected to internet are looking for the music from internet other people are dependent on the tapes or recorders [pritamdas]

Yes i listen music online it wonderful. You can have a lot of collection on net. [faraz007]

Listening to music through internet, I haven't done yet . I used to buy casettes and CDs or get CDs written with favourite songs. I have heard that music sites are not at safe and downloading from such sites may cause virus infection. Fearing that I haven't yet done that. Tell us about the safe and free sites from which music can be downloaded, please. [krishnageethika]
Internet has evolved into another phase where it is more than just browsing. Now a days almost all of the sites have upgraded the Safety measures so go ahead and download music at your will. You can also go for online streaming music if you dont want to download them. [ygkchaitu]

I still listen to cds in the car but I haven't purchased any new cds in forever. I get them at CD Warehouse. Since I work from home though I listen to online music alot. I used to frequent Yahoo! Radio but then I found Pandora and found it a lot better, they only have visual ads not vocal. They way they categorize the music is a little weird at first but once the system learns you it gets smarter at what you like to listen to on a particular station. [rissab]

I listen music on internet. [hirosiko]

Most of the time now, my music is on the internet. I only listen to it on the radio when I am driving. Since I spend a lot of time on the puter, I either listen with my ear phones, or am listening to the radio. [crickethear]

I listen to internet and cd too. [OldVenture]

I like www.raaga.com its great to hear here everything and anything but yes u shud had realplayer installed for this on ur computer and a good dsl internet speed.hope this helps. [mywords18]

I only download music from legit sites like iTunes. I love it! Any song I want at the snap of a finger. I think it's totally worth 99 cents a song. [awonderfullife]

I mostly listen to my iPod. I also sometimes listen to internet radio through iTunes on my computer, but not that often. [kjscrafts]

You will most probably find me on pandora, where you create your own music channel. You find a band you like and get to hear similar bands play and find new favourites. It is brilliant, and you dont pay anything. I love having it on when im tired or bored, writing or just need to relax. [Indiffer]

I dont use cds anymore, lugging that big cd player around was annoying. I usually download my music now and listen to them on my ipod. [ipostsometime]

I listen to all type of sound system. Digital or not. [aries_0325]

Not many people listen to music from Tapes anymore. The Radio survived though... but even when somebody hears a tune there, he says that he'll find it and download it, not buy the CD, or even buy the MP3 (there are those sites too). I don't like this attitude, but when one is provided with something for free... WHAT FOOL WILL DENY THAT opportunity? On the other hand - I buy everything that I think deserves its price. Because if I made a CD with 1 good and 20 bad songs, I KNOW people would be disappointed when they hear it and have spent 10$ for this trash. It's a matter of point of view. [cillerman]

I watch and listen to YouTube.com, does that count? [rogue13xmen13]

I listen to comic book songs and parody songs such as "White and Nerdy" by Werid Al. [rogue13xmen13]

I use mp3 of my CDs, audio streaming and sometime radio FM. The tapes, It's sad to say, but it's dead :( [hiretto]

I have listened to tapes a long time back and now I do not listen to tapes anymore. However I still do buy and listen to cds. I listen to internet music too. I like to listen to the songs which are hosted at the mp3 Hosting sites. The site that I visit is soundclick and there I listen to different underground and unsigned artists. I was just wondering if I could get the links to the sites that you use to listen to mp3s online legally. [atrocious]
there are many sites which provide internet music legally but only for streaming... i only know sites for my region... [ygkchaitu]

Am a great lover of music and i think i wont be able to survive without it. Its going to be a few years that am not buying cds from the market hehehe i listen or download it from the internet. Heheh i never bought any music online but all the music in my libary is from the internet only. Thanks a lot to the Internet [healer]
it would be great to list a few sites to our mylot people because many are asking for the legal links... [ygkchaitu]

i still buy cds but they are very cheap. my daughters get their music from the internet which saves me a fortune.i tend not to listen to music when im on thr internet as it distracts me or else i just havent got into the habit. i like silence. [superbren]
hey nice to hear that from you pretty different one. [ygkchaitu]

I listen on music on internet but only sometimes. [skroutz1346795]
